On April 7, 2004 the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved new rules which require members to establish emergency preparedness plans and procedures. Cedar Creek Securities, Inc. believes it is important for the self regulatory organizations' markets to take concrete steps to strengthen their resilience and to address the continuing serious risks to the U.S. financial system posed by the post September 11th environment. In doing so, Cedar Creek Securities, Inc. along with other members, will be promoting one of the paramount objectives of the U.S. securities laws - the maintenance of fair, stable and orderly markets. Cedar Creek Securities, Inc. realizes the critical nature of being able to continue material operations if an incident occurs that could affect mission-critical operations. This Business Continuity Plan will address the procedures Cedar Creek Securities will follow in light of a significant business disruption.
In planning for a significant business disruption, Cedar Creek Securities, Inc. has studied a number of different scenarios and outcomes including but not limited to a disruption to a single building, a city-wide or business district disruption and a regional disruption. The firm's plans are intended to permit for the continuation of critical business operations during most types of business disruptions and to resume those critical operations, usually within the same business day. This resumption is in part due to the fact that Cedar Creek Securities, Inc. and its business associates maintain back-up technologies, facilities and arrangements to be utilized in the event of a business disruption. In the event of an extreme disruption where the continuation of critical business operations is not likely, practical or in the best interests of the firm or its clients, Cedar Creek Securities, Inc. has implemented necessary steps and procedures to allow for our clients to have prompt access to their funds and securities.
